EPOXY RESIN COMPOSITION, PREPREG AND CURED PRODUCT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoxy resin composition for fiber-reinforced composite materials which has excellent impregnability when a reinforcing fiber is impregnated therewith and which allows a cured product obtained therefrom to be excellent in heat resistance and mechanical and physical properties. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin composition contains a curing agent and an epoxy resin obtained by reacting a phenolic novolak resin with epihalohydrin. The phenolic novolak resin (A) contains the phenolic novolak resin having two nuclei and the phenolic novolak resin having four nuclei. The former has 4-20% chromatogram area ratio and the latter has 9-25% when the chromatogram is measured by a gel permeation chromatography (GPC) method. The ratio [(4)/(2)] of the chromatogram area ratio (4) of the latter to that (2) of the former is within 0.4-2.5. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
