PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a ribbon for a ribbon type microphone, specifically the one that can improve an yield of transferring a mold to a ribbon material by pressing the ribbon material against the mold and can easily manufacture the ribbon. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the ribbon 3 for a ribbon type microphone that has a pattern formed by a transfer mold 11 is provided. In the method of manufacturing the ribbon 3, a transfer step wherein the material of the ribbon 3 is pressed against a surface shape formed in the transfer mold 11 for shaping the ribbon 3 to transfer the shape of the transfer mold 11 to the ribbon 3 includes: a step wherein an elastic member 17 including an elastic member layer 1 and an elastic fiber layer 2 is laid, with the elastic fiber layer 2 facing downward, on top of the material of the ribbon 3 placed on the transfer mold 11; and a step of transferring the surface shape of the transfer mold 11 to the material of the ribbon 3 by pressing the elastic member 17 by means of a pressing means.
