PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder device meeting a plurality of specifications while suppressing the manufacturing cost of a protective cover. SOLUTION: The cylinder device includes a cylinder 12 and a rod 13 telescopically extending from the cylinder 12 and the protective cover 14 for covering the rod 13 and the cylinder 12 is attached to the rod 13. The protective cover 14 is formed of resin material and includes: a first protective cover body 30 covering the rod 13 and the cylinder 12 and having a first engagement portion 47 at the end; and a second protective cover body 31 having at the end a second engagement portion 62 for engaging with the first engagement portion 47.
