A spheroidal graphite iron casting consists, by weight, of the Ni, Cr and Mn contents being so correlated with the section size of the casting that at least the outer portion of the casting has a microstructure of upper bainite. The casting may be strengthened by tempering at 200‹ -315‹ C. for 2-14 hours. Uses Crankshafts, diesel blocks and heads, cams, brakedrums, clutch plates, track shoes for crawler-type tractor treads, centrifugally cast sleeves, rolling-mill rolls, forming dies and wear plates. |
