PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a guide to an article on display with a high degree of certainty. SOLUTION: A guide device (portable information terminal 20) for guiding to a guide position by reading guide position information printed or embedded in a medium 10 includes: a positioning unit 212 for positioning the present position information; an azimuth determination unit 213 for determining an azimuth orientation by detecting geomagnetism; and a guide position leading unit 214 for generating and outputting the guide information including the traveling direction to the guide position, based on the present position information positioned by the positioning unit and the azimuth information determined by the azimuth determination unit and the guide position information read from the medium.
