DEVICE, METHOD AND PROGRAM FOR RECOGNIZING MARK ITEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve recognition accuracy of a mark item in a slip when extracting the mark item from image data of the slip and performing recognition processing of the mark item without previously registering a form image. SOLUTION: In a mark item recognition device 10, a mark graphic removal means 16 searches a shape matched with mark graphic definition from image data of a mark item area, specifies the position of the detected mark graphic and removes the mark graphic from the image data of the mark item area. A character recognition means 15 extracts a character from the image data of the mark item area from which the mark graphic is removed and performs character recognition by using a character recognition dictionary stored in a character recognition dictionary storage means 11a.
