PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating the water stain removing properties of the surface of sanitary pottery under the same condition. SOLUTION: The method for evaluating the water stain removing properties of the surface of the sanitary pottery includes the process for preparing an aqueous solution containing water-soluble coloring matter and soluble silicic acid, the process for regulating the pH of the aqueous solution to 7.0, the process for applying the aqueous solution regulated to pH 7.0 to the surface of the sanitary pottery and subsequently drying the aqueous solution layer on the surface of the sanitary pottery to adhere and form a colorable solid substance to the surface of the sanitary pottery, the process for sliding a water-containing nonwoven fabric on the surface of the sanitary pottery having the colorable solid substance adhered and formed thereto, and the process for measuring the colore difference of the surface of the sanitary pottery before and after the sliding of the nonwoven fabric.
