PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger capable of keeping original functions of a header while improving pressure capacity, in the heat exchanger in which a high-pressure refrigerant flows. SOLUTION: This heat exchanger 1 exchanging heat between the air and the refrigerant, includes a plurality of flat tubes 11a-11k, and a header 13. Flow channel holes in which the refrigerant flows, are formed on the plurality of flat tubes 11a-11k. The header 13 is extended in the direction intersecting with the extending direction of the flat tubes 11a-11k, and inserted to each of the flat tubes 11a-11k from different positions, and formed with an internal space communicated with the flow channel holes. Further the header has a reinforcement member 135. The reinforcement member 135 is disposed in the internal space of the header 13 to be integrated with the header 13, so that a near-flat tube space is formed near end faces of the flat tubes 11a-11k, and a communication space S1 communicated with the near-flat tube space and extending in the longitudinal direction of the header is formed at least at an upstream side of the airflow.
