PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic lens for an ultrasonic probe, having excellent acoustic characteristic and durability, and also to provide the ultrasonic probe using the lens. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic probe 1 contains metal oxide particles with silica coated thereon and silicone rubber. In the probe 1, the content of the metal oxide particles is 15-50 mass.%. The ultrasonic probe 1 includes an acoustic matching layer 8 and the acoustic lens 9 for the ultrasonic probe which are arranged on piezoelectric elements having electrodes 2 and a piezoelectric material 5 on a backing material 6.
