PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a footstep speed pulsation suppression mechanism of a passenger conveyor which does not require an accurate bending process of a footstep guide rail and which constantly maintains the horizontal speed of a footstep regardless of the tensional force of a chain. SOLUTION: The footstep speed suppression mechanism of the passenger conveyor including a sprocket, and a chain having a plurality of rollers meshed with the sprocket to be driven and a plurality of links endlessly connecting the rollers includes: a footstep guide rail for horizontally guiding the chain before the chain is reversed by the sprocket; and a pulsation suppression fixing rail for changing a rotational radius by guiding a towed roller so that the speed of the roller travelling while guided by the footstep guide rail following the roller meshed with the sprocket and towed, is not pulsated.
