FUNCTIONAL NANOPOROUS MATERIAL FOR GAS STORAGE APPLICATIONS

A set of functionalized nanoporous materials are disclosed exhibiting a framework including metal atoms, oxygen atoms and at least one aromatic organic group containing more than one aromatic ring. The gas adsorption activity and, in particular, the molecular hydrogen uptake of the nanoporous material with increased aromaticity content is further enhanced by peculiar functionalization performed by integrating in the framework and/or on its surface actives moieties such as metal atoms, organic groups or sulfonic groups different from those of the starting framework.
