<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly safe outdoor unit for an air conditioner, which prevents fire spreading into an interior even if a decorative cover is burned by an external ignition source by any chance. <P>SOLUTION: The outdoor unit for an air conditioner includes a terminal block to which an electric wire from an exterior is connected, a casing housing the terminal block, an opening provided in a side face of the casing for carrying out the connection work of the electric wire from the exterior, a protective cover made of sheet metal covering the opening, a pipe connection part connected to an indoor unit, and the resin decorative cover covering the opening covered by the protective cover and the pipe connection part at the same time. Since the upper part of the protective cover is inserted and disposed at a part higher than the opening of the casing, and a width direction is larger than a width of the opening, preventing fire spreading into the interior by the protective cover. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
