<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-view display configured so that different viewers can view different scenes. <P>SOLUTION: A spatial optical modulator 20 includes a black mask wherein at least two portions 72 and 73 having different widths are included between apertures of horizontally adjacent pixels. A parallax barrier 21 includes a plurality of parallax elements cooperating with individual groups of the pixels L and R.
