MOTION DETECTING DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of utilizing motion information estimated through a motion detection device capable of estimating a rotation angle only by a rotation angle measuring sensor and a biaxial angular velocity sensor, as interaction information for a small-sized portable apparatus.

SOLUTION: This motion detection device 100 has a constitution wherein a first angle is measured by using one or more first rotation angle measuring sensors, and a second angle is estimated by using one or more second rotation angle measuring sensors and one or more biaxial angular velocity sensors 300 which are different from one or more first rotation angle measuring sensors, and a third angle which is either of the two axes is estimated by using one or more third rotation angle measuring sensors and one or more biaxial angular velocity sensors. The motion detection device can be applied to a user interface device for controlling display of information by various methods on a terminal unit according to motion of the terminal unit. A user interface method includes steps for: sensing motion information of the terminal unit; and controlling display of one or more contents in correspondence with the sensed motion information.
