PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a solid-state imaging device to prevent degradation of the secondary packageability of a package body, even if a fixing material runs out of the seal portion between the package frame and the transparent plate. SOLUTION: The solid-state imaging device has a package body 1, a metal lead 3 which is provided to the package body 1 to penetrate the device from the inside to the outside, an image pick up element 5 which is held on the package body 1, a package frame 2 which is fixed on the package body 1 in the periphery thereof, and a transparent plate 9 which is fixed on the package frame with the fixing material 8 to seal the image pick up element 5. Steps 2c serving as a hanging down prevention means for preventing the fixing material 8 from hanging down are provided in the periphery of the package frame 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
