PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor detecting a low concentration NO<SB>2</SB>of a several ppb level with high sensitivity. SOLUTION: This gas sensor at least is equipped with: a silver catalyst member 4 wherein a clearance passable by sample gas is formed inside, and silver is exposed at least on the surface of the clearance; a first semiconductor type gas sensor element 5 on which a gas sensitive film comprising an n-type oxide semiconductor is formed; and a main channel 2 for communicating the silver catalyst member with the first semiconductor type gas sensor element, and circulating sample gas from the silver catalyst member to a direction toward the first semiconductor type gas sensor element.
