PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image classifying device, an image classifying system, an image classifying method, a program, and a recording medium, whereby by having a movement pathway followed by a photographer and a person who accompanies the photographer recorded, an event and classify image data according to the event are carried out. SOLUTION: The image classifying device includes a movement pathway data input unit for receiving the input of a plurality of movement pathway data including person information, movement pathway information that is continuous location information, and date information and time information indicating the date and the time when the location information has been acquired; an image data input unit for receiving the input of image data which contains imaging date/time information; a movement pathway data comparison unit for comparing the plurality of movement pathway data; an event date/time decision unit for deciding on the date/time of an event, based on a comparison result; and an image data classifying unit for classifying image data containing the imaging date/time information corresponding to the decided date/time of the event as event image corresponding to the decided date/time of the event, and the occurrence of an event is decided, based on the difference in the location information when the time information of the plurality of compared movement pathway data is the same.
