<p>Provided is a signal transmission method wherein whatever a 3D video transmission/operation method and/or a 3D video transmission system may be in broadcast services using broadband channels, 2D and 3D video displays can be supported at a receiving end. The signal transmission method comprises a transmission step in which when three-dimensional image display sections, during which three-dimensional images are displayed, are included in part of contents to be distributed via a network, both switching information related to the switch timings of the three-dimensional image display sections and transmission system information indicating a three-dimensional image transmission system are transmitted together with the contents on a content-by-content basis and further if the three-dimensional images or two-dimensional images corresponding to those three-dimensional images are distributed as separate contents, distribution source information indicating distribution sources of the separate contents is also transmitted together with the contents on the content-by-content basis.</p> |
