<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce memory capacity and achieve high-speed processing of an image processor that performs filtering. <P>SOLUTION: The image processor 100 outputs compressed data to a frame memory 107 when a compression ratio of a block in the preceding frame is equal to or less than a target value (when the compression ratio is high), and discards the compressed data when the compression ratio is larger than the target value (when the compression ratio is low). When the compressed data of the block in the preceding frame is stored in the frame memory 107, the block in the current frame is filtered using data expanded from the compressed data, and filtered data in the block in the current frame is output.
