PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overcurrent protection circuit which prevents the destruction of elements on occurrence of an overcurrent, and the cost of which is reduced by making usable cost-effective parts having a low allowable current value, and also to provide an on-vehicle display device having the overcurrent protection circuit. SOLUTION: A first transistor Q1 is turned on when a voltage drop in a load current detection resistor Rs reaches a predetermined overcurrent detection voltage due to an increase of Iout. Here, the output end of the first transistor Q1 and a first resistor R1 are connected. The connection point of both and the control end of a main transistor QM are connected via a first diode D1. A voltage VGlim is thereby impressed to the control end of the main transistor QM by switching on the first transistor Q1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
