The method involves evaluating physical measurements for measuring a voltage drop in the region of shunts (7) in load circuit of a battery (2). The measurements are related to the operating conditions and environmental conditions at the shunt or the battery and downstream functions are adjusted for enactment. The operating and environmental conditions at the shunt, which lead to thermoelectric voltage on the shunt or in the connecting lines to an electronic circuit (10), are evaluated. An independent claim is also included for a battery sensor with an assembly.
