The multi-group gear mechanism (1) has a gear housing (2), which has a splitter drive (6), a main gearbox (7) and a downstream group transmission (12). A counter shaft (8) is supported by a bearing against the intermediate plate. The intermediate plate is formed as intermediate wall (5) and is fixed firmly between the two housings (3,4). The former housing has a housing flange and the latter housing has another housing flange. The intermediate wall has an intermediate flange.
