The display- and control device (1) has a multi-view display device (3), which displays different information on a display surface (12) for different viewing angle areas (6,7). An approach detection device (26) is coupled with a controlling device (10), by which the approaching of an operating element (17,18) to the display surface of the multi-view display device is detected depending upon a position detection device (11) and a user differentiating device (19). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a display- and control device.
