PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die insert member holding structure that can easily and firmly hold an insert member to the inner surface of a die and easily pull a pin out of a clip in form removal, and to provide a foam molding method using the structure, a clip usable for the structure and a method, and an EA (energy absorbing) material having the clip. SOLUTION: The EA material 1 is mounted to the die 60 by insert-locking a clip locking pin 50 to the clip 40 having a through-hole 42 with a stepped part 43. Foam molding of urethane or the like is performed in the die 60 to manufacture the EA material 1 embedded in a surface part. Since the inner surface of the clip 40 is provided with protrusions 47, the clip 40 does not move in foam molding.
