PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a material yield in punching of a core piece and to suppress deterioration of characteristics as a stator core. SOLUTION: The core pieces 11(A), 11(B) are punched in two rows in a width direction (direction of an arrow W) of a magnetic steel plate material 21. In the core pieces 11(A), 11(B), the outer periphery is formed in a round shape nearly along a virtual circle c, the inner periphery is formed in a ring-plate shape punched circularly, and N (for example 36) slots 12 are formed in a circumferential direction at a constant angular pitch in the inner peripheral section. Linear cutouts 13, which are positioned at five places and are formed in a shape, where for example one portion of the outer periphery of the virtual circle c is cut out by a chord, are formed in the outer peripheral section of the core pieces 11. A number of core pieces 11(A), 11(B) are stacked alternately to assemble the stator core while shifting by a prescribed angle (an angle of 30°) each in the circumferential direction, while maintaining the positions of the slots 12 fixedly with reference to a formation position of a linear cutout 11.
