PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiography apparatus which elevates an X-ray tube and prevents collision between a subject and a collimator when an operator lowers a photography table to allow a subject to get on and off the photography table easily. SOLUTION: When a height detecting means 11 detects that output voltage of a position detecting means 8 (the height position of the photography table 6) reaches or becomes lower than a predetermined height (voltage), when a time detecting means 12 detects that the time period measured while lowering the photography table 6 reaches or becomes longer than a predetermined time period, or when a distance detecting means 13 detects that the move distance of the photography table 6 in the lower direction reaches or becomes longer than a predetermined distance (voltage), an X-ray tube elevating/descending control section 14 directs an X-ray tube elevating/descending drive section 5 to move the X-ray tube 3 upward.
