PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering unit for a combine harvester which is capable of easily fixing and detaching a column cover and restraining the column cover from falling down further owing to a provisional support member when the column cover has fallen down. SOLUTION: The steering part for a combine harvester is such that: in installing a column cover along the front face of a steering column 17 raised on the step portion 7 of the steering unit 4; engagement holes 35 bored left and right in the lower part of the column cover are inserted with a fastening pin 23 arranged on the step portion 7; and then the upper part of the column cover is fixed onto the attachment member 26 of the steering column 17 by a fixing member. In this steering unit, the fastening pin 23 is arranged on the step portion 7 to be directed downward, and a provisional support member 36 is installed to restrain the column cover from falling down, when the column cover is put along the steering column 17 by putting the engagement holes 35 on the fastening pin 23 from below, by making the provisional support member abut on the step portion 7.
