PURPOSE: An electrode assembly for a battery is provided to prevent the thickness increase of a battery in the manufacture of the battery by attaching a separation film to a stepped portion of a positive electrode plate. CONSTITUTION: An electrode assembly for a battery comprises: a positive electrode plate(100) which includes a positive electrode plate coating layer and a positive electrode plate stepped portion by exposing a positive electrode plate current collector; a negative electrode plate(200); a first separation film(310) in which plural positive electrode plates are arranged wherein an adhesive is applied to the positive electrode plate stepped portion; and a second separation film(320) in which plural negative electrode plates are arranged.
