Apparatus for playing a Tic-Tac-Toe game with balls and cue sticks includes a playing surface having holes in a three by three grid pattern (fig. 1), and a middle board (fig. 2) provided below the playing surface. The middle board has a matching grid of holes and is moveable between a closed position in which the holes are offset from the surface holes to prevent balls which enter the surface holes from falling through, and an open position in which the surface and middle board holes are aligned thus allowing balls to fall through. An inclined lower board (fig. 3) is provided such that upon falling through the holes, the balls roll to the front of the table to be recovered for starting a new game, The balls preferably comprise two sets of differently coloured balls, such as red and white, and balls entering the surface holes when the middle board is in the closed position remain in view such that players can see which colour of ball is in a hole. During play, the middle board is in the closed position and players attempt to pot balls so as to form a line of three matching coloured balls in the manner of Tic-Tac-Toe or noughts and crosses. When the game is finished the middle board is moved to the open position in order that balls located in the holes fall through and are returned to the players. The playing surface and boards are preferably housed in a cabinet similar to that of a bar billiards tables.
|
