Solder suitable for use on Ceramics comprises Pb (40 to 98%), Sn (0.05 to 10%) Zn (0.05 to 10%) and Sb (0.05 to 10%). This solder is used as a direct solder with a glass to obtain a thick soldering layer capable of wire drawing. On brazing, it is preferable to cost on un-molten glass completely, or subjecting the soldering tip to ultra-sonic vibration. The solder can be used for not only glass but at also for porcelain and other ceramics.
