Class 132(3) The skirt of a shuttle cock is of plastic and has spin-producing members which are joined to the skirt along one edge of the member. In Fig. 1, a skirt 1 is moulded preferably of polythene and consists of a series of panels having flaps and apertures. Flaps 6, 7<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>11</SP> are cut from the skirt and bent outwardly, flaps 7<SP>1</SP>, 8' having small perforations 27. Bridge portions 4<SP>1</SP> provided'in some panels separate halfflaps 6<SP>1</SP> from main apertures 10. Further apertures 8 are adjacent the cap 2 which is moulded in one piece with the skirt and has a rubber cap 12 secured by a bead 13 engaging in an annular groove 11. A flap may extend for substantially the whole length of a panel or there may be three small flaps on a panel, Figs. 2, 3 (not shown). A panel may have triangular or rectangular flaps, Figs. 4. 5 (not shown). Fig. 6 shows a skirt 1 separated from a cap 22 which may be of cork and which has recesses engaging projections 24 on the skirt. The flaps may be moulded on to the skirt and they may be bent inwardly. |
