The device (1) has an electric motor (6) driving an operating pinion that is engaged with a rack (5) for displacing a frame (4) in a door frame (3). A dummy post (8) is constituted by a tubular casing (9), and the electric motor is installed at an interior of the tubular casing. The dummy post has an adjusting unit (30) adjusting a position of fixation units of an endpiece (12) with respect to an end (10) of the casing associated to the endpiece so as to permit adjustment of length of the dummy post.
