An apparatus 10 for twisting yarn and heat-setting twisted yarn, comprises a high speed twisting system 12 for spinning at least two yarns to form a twisted yarn at a twisting speed of about 10,000 to 100,000 rpm, a tension reducing system 14 for reducing the tension in the twisted yarn, an accumulating system 16 for accumulating the twisted yarn, and a heat-setting system 18 for heat-setting the twisted yarn to form a heat-set twisted yarn. When the high speed twisting system 12 is stopped, the operation of the heat-setting system 18 continues uninterrupted. |
