A fire retardant polymer composition comprises a polymer of an unsaturated hydrocarbon and (a) 1,2,3,6-tetrahydro-3,6-methano-3,4,5,6,7,7 - hexachloro - phthalimide, (b) 2,21,3,31,4,41,5,51,7,7,71,71 - dodecachloro-1,11,-2,21,5,51,6,61 - octa - hydro - 2,21,5,51 - methanobiphenyl, (c) tetrachlorophthalimide, or (d) a mixture thereof. Optional ingredients are organic or inorganic compounds of Sb, As or Bi (in particular Sb2O3), carbon black, and stabilizers selected from dibutyl tin dilaurate, lead phosphite and lead carbonate. |
