A sulphidation resistant alloy comprises in weight per cent:- B 0À005-0À05 Zr 0À01-0À2 Al at least 2À5 Ti up to 5 such that the ratio Al atomic per cent/Ti atomic per cent = 1-2, the total content of Al and Ti is less than 12 atomic per cent and the total content of Mo, W, Ta and Nb is less than 4À8 atomic per cent, the balance, apart from impurities and incidental elements such as:- Mn up to 0À35 Si up to 0À35 Fe up to 1 Cu up to 0À2 S up to 0À02 and P up to 0À02, being nickel. A casting of the alloy may be heated at 1093 to 1204‹C. for 1-4 hours, at 982-1093‹C. for 1-8 hours and then aged at 732-927‹ C. for 10-50 hours. |
