A cylinder lock mechanism comprises a housing 1 with a cylindrical opening having an axial groove 5 in its side wall, a hollow cylinder 2 turnable in the opening and containing a plurality of locking discs 4 turnable within the cylinder by means of a key, and a locking bar 3 engaged -with said cylinder (in a slot 9) and movable from a cylinderlocking position in which it is also engaged in said groove into a cylinder-releasing position in which the locking bar is disengaged from said groove and is received in a channel formed by alignment of notches 6 in the peripheral edge of the locking discs, characterised in that the locking bar is straight and in that at one end of said locking bar there is an axial projection which is movably received in a radial slot in the cylinder, which slot and projection prevent turning of the locking bar in its movement between its cylinder-locking and its cylinderreleasing positions around its longitudinal axis. In the construction shown, the locking bar is of octagonal shape and the corners are rounded or bevelled. The notches in the locking discs 6 have an obliquely disposed wall 6a and the groove 5 also has an obliquely disposed wall 5a for aiding the movement of the locking bar. |
