1,167,385. Valves. J. L. GRATZMULLER. 21 April, 1967 [27 April, 1966], No. 18535/67. Heading F2V. [Also in Division F4] Excess pressure, in the gas phase 8 of a combustible liquefied gas 6 contained in a storage chamber 2, is relieved by way of a valve 10 mounted on top of the chamber and comprising a valve closure member 32 connected to a diaphragm 14 and loaded on to its seat 34 by a spring 26. Upon the closure member being lifted from its seat by the excess pressure, pressurized gas enters line 38 which has an opening 40 spaced from the chamber and located adjacent a gas igniting device 42. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown), automatic ignition is effected by means including a monostat (50), there being a valve (52), similar to valve 10, disposed downstream of the monostat for regulating the flow to the line outlet 40. In Fig. 3 (not shown), there is depicted an arrangement whereby the excess pressure from one or more of three gas storage chambers can be relieved, there being only one monostat and igniting means. |
