MULTIMEDIA SIGNATURE CODING AND DECODING

PURPOSE: A multimedia signature coding and decoding is provided to permit enough compression and convenient access about one part of a finger print which is not used frequently. CONSTITUTION: A coarse digital fingerprint generator generates and operates a coarse digital fingerprint which characterizes a digital data into the interval of time sequence. A fine digital fingerprint generator is created to generate a plurality of fine digital fingerprints about the interval. The fine digital fingerprint characterizes the digital data into a sub interval of the interval. An encoder is operated to selectively apply compression encoding about the interval to the fine digital fingerprint. The encoder is operated to apply the non-pressure encoding to the digital fingerprint which is not compressed encoded.
