PURPOSE: An amino acid-modified sulfur binder and a method for preparing the same are provided to enable use with a hydraulic material such as cement and gypsum by melting a modifying sulfur binder at 100°C or less. CONSTITUTION: An amino acid-modified sulfur binder is obtained by mixing and melting 99~60 weight% of sulfur and 1~40 weight% of a dicyclopentadiene-based mixture and an amino acid-based compound as a sulfur modifier. The dicyclopentadiene-based mixture is dicyclopentadiene(DCPD) alone or a mixture in which at least one of cyclopentadiene(CPD), DCPD derivative, and CPD derivative is added to DCPD.
