The method for producing a steam turbine component, comprises connecting a heat-insulating layer (3) on a ferritic base material (1), and connecting an adhesive layer (2) of a ferritic material on the ferritic base material with the heat-insulating layer. The ferrite material is applied by atmospheric plasma spraying and comprises a powder. The heat-insulating layer is zirconium oxide partially stabilized from yttrium. The adhesive layer is arranged as a protective layer (4) on the heat insulating layer. An independent claim is included for a steam turbine component.
