A semi-permanent matrix memory employs a set of row conductors H 1 -H 6 and a set of column conductors V 1 -V 8 mounted or printed on two parallel planes, each row crossing each column, and at the crossing points, the two conductors extend parallel to one another for a short distance (e.g. K 11 , K 12 ) so as to provide a directional coupling i.e. capacitive and inductive, between them, the two sets of conductors having an interchangeable conductive screen e.g. thin foil, interposed between them to render operative only those couplings adjacent apertures formed in the screen. Signal generators T 1 -T 6 are connected to opposite ends of alternate row conductors H 1 -H 6 , the free ends being terminated in reflection free manner by resistances, while signal receivers R 1 -R 8 are similarly connected to opposite ends of alternate column conductors V 1 -V 8 , which ends are also terminated in reflection free manner. |
