PURPOSE: A cooling device for the external wall of a reactor is provided to prevent melt in a core from overflowing the reactor even in case of a severe accident by installing an inlet panel and outlet panel for cooling water which is opened by the pressure of the cooling water when an insulator has a severe problem. CONSTITUTION: In a cooling device for the external wall of a reactor, a nuclear reactor includes a reactor vessel(10), an insulating material(20), a connection unit(30), and structure. A cooling system for the outer wall of the reactor is comprised of a cooling water supply pipe(50), a inlet and outlet for cooling water The inlet is opened by the pressure of the cooling water to supply the cooling water between the vessel and the insulating material. The inlet and outlet are closed by own weight when a nuclear reactor is normal condition to insulate the vessel. |
