PURPOSE: A media system having social awareness is provided to increase media streaming processes by inserting personalized social awareness based content into media stream. CONSTITUTION: A media server computer monitors media stream(152). Personalized social awareness based content is inserted within the media stream by selecting a marker(154). The monitored media stream is converted(156). The personalized social awareness information is identified by the media server. The personalized social awareness based content is derived by using the identified social awareness information.
