A straw rack shaft for a combine harvester is made from three parts 1, 2, 3, which are cut to length and bent as required. Bearing rings 4 are shrunk on to the shaft sections before bending. The formed sections are placed in a fixture and welded together as at 5. The rods are preferably of round cold-drawn steel or bright drawn material. |
