[Also in Division B8] An ampoule comprises a collapsible chamber having two coaxially aligned, opposed, frustoconical walls united at their base ends, one of the walls 21 being deformable into a stable inverted position in close proximity to the inner surface of the other wall 22, the invertible wall 21 having an apex angle of between 90‹ and 100‹ while the other wall is stiffer than the invertible wall and has an apex angle which is not less than, and not more than 5‹ larger than, the apex angle of the invertible wall. As shown, the ampoule comprises bellows sections and is fitted with a hypodermic needle 14 having a cover 15. The ampoule is made from transparent or translucent exemplified synthetic plastics material and is used for liquid injection or liquid withdrawal (e.g. blood sampling) in which case the bellows sections 11 may be omitted. |
