PURPOSE: A photovoltaic device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the quality and reliability of a thin film solar cell by suppressing the deterioration of a window layer due to dopant which is included in a light absorption layer. CONSTITUTION: In a photovoltaic device and a manufacturing method thereof, a transparent electrode layer(102) is coated on a glass substrates(100). A window layer(104) is formed on the transparent electrode layer. A light absorption layer(106) made of zinc phosphide is formed on the window layer. The tellurium zinc layer(108) is formed on the light absorption layer. A rear electrode(110) is formed on the top of the tellurium zinc layer.
