Cleaning tablets or other moulded bodies comprising bleaching-, detergent-, oxidizing-, disinfecting- and/or cleaning-agents contain as dissolving aids acid alkali metal borates with a molar ratio of M2O: B2O3 of from 1: 1.3 to 1 : 3 and which contain active oxygen and/or labile oxygen, these terms being defined as meaning respectively, oxygen, the presence of which in the compound gives rise to the reactions of hydrogen peroxide on dissolution in water, and oxygen which is liberated as free gaseous oxygen on addition of the compound to water. Suitable acid alkali metal borates may be made by heating at 50-180 DEG C. borates having the above molar ratio and containing active oxygen so as to wholly or partly convert the active oxygen to labile oxygen. In examples, tablets are formed from a borate as above and a mixture of either trisodium orthophosphate decahydrate or sodium tripolyphosphate with anhydrous tetrasodium pyrophosphate. |
