An earthworking machine comprises a jib pivotally mounted on a turret 2 for movement in a vertical plane and pivotally carrying a bucket 5, the jib consisting of two parts 3a, 3b respectively attached to the turret and the bucket and hinged together for pivotal movement above an axis lying in the vertical plane, hydraulic rams 12, 6 being provided for moving the jib parts 3a, 3b relative to one another arid for moving the bucket relative to the jib part 3b, and the arrangement being such that the axis is substantially vertical when the leading edge of the bucket is substantially at ground level. The jib part 3a comprises arms 7 of a parallelogram linkage movable by a hydraulic ram 11 about axes 2b, 2c. In a second embodiment, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), the jib part 3a is a single member mounted on the turret for pivotal movement about a single axis.</p> |
