PURPOSE: An apparatus for measuring pulse wave velocity and a method thereof are provided to reduce power consumption by using a electricity transfer device. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for measuring pulse wave velocity and a method thereof, an impedance signal measuring unit(100) includes a test current generator(110), a bio impedance signal electrode(130), a bio-impedance signal amplification unit(150), and a bio-impedance signal processing unit(170). A bio-impedance signal measurement unit(100) includes a first amplifier(160) and a second amplifier(180). The test current generator generates a current which is transmitted to one part of the body of a subject. A local oscillator is connected to the earth and generates a local oscillation signal. The bio impedance signal electrode comprises two electrode pads. A pulse wave transmission speed measuring unit comprises the bio-impedance signal measurement unit, a electrocardiogram signal measurement unit(200), and a data processing unit(350).
