PURPOSE: A high performance piston engine is provided to enable smooth operation since an exhaust turbine functions as a fly wheel of an engine. CONSTITUTION: A high performance piston engine is constituted as follows. A pipe shaft(7) of an exhaust turbine is loosely inserted into a crank shaft(4) inside an exhaust chamber(3) formed on the side of an exhaust hole(2) of a 2-cycle piston engine cylinder for idling. A bevel gear(8) is fixed to the front end of the crank shaft. The bevel gear engages with a side bevel gear(11) that is inserted into a fixing spindle(10) of a differential gear(9) fixed to the front end of the pipe shaft of the exhaust turbine and additionally transmits the torque of the exhaust turbine to the crank shaft.
